Description
This route begins at the El Contador Recreational Area, crosses Morro El Peñón and, shortly afterwards, intersects with the PR TF 86.1 spur trail to the Casa Forestal (forest house).
Keep on the PR TF 86 path and you will come to Chozas Viejas, an old herders’ resting place. After this you will come across another turn-off onto the PR TF 86.2 spur trail to the Fuente del Llano campsite.
Continue along the main trail, which will take you to the upland area of Tenerife, along Camino del Filo and Degollada de Guajara. The route ends at the Parador de Las Cañadas del Teide.
Tips
- Always stay on the marked trail and do not enter private property, hunting grounds, water galleries, wells or caves.
- Pay special attention when crossing or walking along trails used by bicycles, horses or motor vehicles and when walking in ravines with water courses.
- Avoid direct encounters with potentially dangerous animals, such as livestock, beehives, and dogs.
- Proceed with caution and watch for obstacles, loose rocks, uneven terrain or steep slopes to avoid accidents and falls.
